Poultices and Fomentations - In this presentation, medical missionary Walt Cross looks at poultices and fomentations. Learn about the use of poultices in Biblical history, which herbs make good poultices, how to use herbs topically, four types of herbal poultices (fresh plant, spit, hot and cold herbal poultices) and components of basic poultices.  The section on fomentations covers fomentations made with juices, oils and herbal teas. Walt demonstrates the simple preparation and application of herbs in poultices and fomentations. He also shares his tips for using them effectively and gives concrete examples of the use of poultices and fomentations from his experiences. 

Infusions and Decoctions - Walt Cross discusses herbal teas, explaining which parts of the plants to use and how to prepare them for making infusions and decoctions. He also demonstrates how to make decoctions and hot and cold infusions and describes their uses. He discusses some of the most commonly used and most readily available herbs, how to prepare and apply the infusions and decoctions made with these herbs and the resulting health benefits.

Extracts - In this presentation, Walt Cross discusses the benefits of using herbal extracts, which include high potency, low cost, increased shelf life and ease of administration as compared with taking herbs in pill or capsule form. He explains the difference between extracts made with vegetable glycerin and those made with alcohol and demonstrates two simple methods for preparing herbal extracts. He also lists
about 30 herbs that can be used for making extracts and how they can be used medicinally.

Essential Oils, Part 1 - In this presentation, Walt discusses essential oils. Learn how to choose the best quality essential oils, how they’re extracted, common application methods, properties, common uses, and precautions for using them. Walt also covers definitions for medicinal effects and demonstrates several methods of applying essential oils and shows how to use a diffuser to get their medicinal properties into the air. Some of the most commonly used essential oils are discussed in detail, including lavender, peppermint, eucalyptus, lemon, tea tree and others. Walt also shares many of his experiences with people he has successfully helped using essential oils.

Essential Oils, Part 2 - In this presentation, Walt discusses essential oils. The information he shares covers extraction method, common application methods, properties, common uses, and precautions for more than 20 herbal essential oils, from bergamot to ylang ylang. He also shares many of his experiences with people he has successfully helped using herbs.
