Easy Spelt Bread

Ingredients

  • 5-6 cups of spelt flour

  • 1/4 cup honey

  • 1 tbsp sea salt

  • 1 tbsp baking yeast

  • 1 tbsp whole psyllium seed husks

  • 2 cups of warm water

  • 1/4 cup oil

Preparation

  1. Mix in bowl, water, oil, honey, yeast and 3 cups flour and let sit for 20 minutes.

  2. Then add sea salt, psyllium husks and small amount of flour a little at a time and knead until the dough doesn’t stick to the edge of the bowl.

  3. If using a mixer, it would be approximately 8 minutes until the dough pulls away from the bowl.

  4. Cut dough in half for 2 loaves or 1 loaf and 12 rolls.

  5. Put in oiled pan, cover with a towel and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour.

  6. Then bake at 350° F for 30 minutes. When making rolls, a good size is 2 oz of dough per roll. Rolls only need 20 minutes or until brown.
